Standard Upload
Last updated 19 days ago
Standard Upload is a data entry method that enables bulk upload of emission data into Carbondeck using Excel templates. Compared to manual entry, this method provides a faster and more scalable data upload process.
The Standard Upload feature can be accessed via the Standard Upload tab under the Data Entry+ module.
Sample Excel Files
For each scope and sub-category, Carbondeck provides dedicated sample Excel files.
These files are automatically generated based on the emission factors defined in the selected facility’s Emission Profile.
Therefore:
Before performing any calculations, the most up-to-date sample file for the relevant sub-category must be downloaded.
If changes are made to the emission profile (such as adding or removing emission factors), previously downloaded files may become invalid.
When outdated files are uploaded, the system may not recognize the emission factors and calculations cannot be completed.
Excel File Structure
The downloaded sample file is provided in Excel format and includes a Guidance sheet.
This guidance explains how the file should be filled in and is displayed in Turkish or English, depending on the system language.
The Excel file is structured as follows:
Columns A–F:
Contain fixed information related to emission factors.
These columns should not be modified.Activity Data:
The relevant consumption amount or activity data should be entered.Start Date / End Date:
Specify the date range during which the activity occurred.Supplier:
Lists suppliers that have already been defined in the system.
This field allows emissions to be mapped to specific suppliers.Description:
Optional field for adding additional information related to the activity.
Rows corresponding to emission factors that will not be used can be deleted from the file.
Emission factors that will be used can be duplicated within the Excel file using copy–paste to represent multiple activities.
Uploading the File to the System
After completing the Excel file and saving it:
The file must be uploaded under the same sub-category from which it was downloaded.
Upload can be performed using drag-and-drop or by selecting the file from the local directory.
Once the file is uploaded, calculations are performed automatically.
Post-Upload View
After the upload is completed:
A file preview screen is displayed for the uploaded file.
The Last Uploaded File section appears at the bottom of the screen.
This section provides the following summary information:
Total emissions (tCO₂e)
Uploaded file name
Number of processed rows
Options to preview the file and access detailed results
The Standard Upload method offers a consistent, profile-aligned, and efficient data entry process, particularly suited for organizations working with large volumes of emission data.
